“…But the man who makes me his refuge will inherit the land and possess my holy mountain." And it will be said: "Build up, build up, prepare the road! Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people." For this is what the high and lofty One says– he who lives forever, whose name is holy: "I live in a high and holy place, but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite. – Isaiah 57:13-15
Prayer Focus:
Where do people turn for preservation and safety when their character is called into question, their head is on the chopping block and they are called to accountability? What about you? Do you rely on Truth and the God of Truth, or do you escape to a refuge of lies and falsehoods? How many people turn to fabricating their defense with what is not true or righteous?
Isaiah contrasts those who look to their idols to save them, with those who make God their refuge.. In chapter 44:20, Isaiah points out that an idol is a LIE! He says that those who trust in these lies are misled by their deluded hearts. They cannot even admit that what they are trusting in is a lie, so they continue to weave a web of lies to support their original fabrication. But, the person who makes the God of TRUTH his refuge will be vindicated. He will inherit God’s blessing! His work and his testimony will be proven to be true and righteous and God will validate him.
We desperately need a revival of TRUTH and a revival of trust in the God of TRUTH in our land. Isaiah gives us a plan for this in the form of a construction project. “Build up!” Build up what? Construct a highway of truth and holiness! Make it at least 4 lanes so that those who desire truth in their inner parts will find it easy to be people of the TRUTH and those who have felt it necessary to trust in lies will find it difficult to travel against the traffic. Be people of the TRUTH, the whole TRUTH, and nothing but the TRUTH! Get rid of any obstacles and besetting sins that hinder the progress and flow of TRUTH and righteousness in our lives and culture. Why? Because this is the blueprint for REVIVAL! For this is the message from the HOLY ONE who dwells in a high and holy place: “I also dwell with those who are contrite and humble, so that I may bring revival to their spirit and to their heart.”
God is the God of TRUTH! Christ Jesus is the way, and the TRUTH, and the life! The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of TRUTH who guides us into all TRUTH! God’s Word is TRUTH! And, He sanctifies us through the TRUTH! This HOLY GOD, whose ways and thoughts are higher than our highest ways and thoughts, promises to make His dwelling with those who are humble and trainable in His TRUTH. Let Him teach you how to rebuild a life of holiness and truth. Let Him revive a holy passion for TRUTH and righteousness in your heart! If you want to see REVIVAL in the land, let it begin with you!
Thursday:
- Humbly meet together with at least 1 or 2 others to pray and invite God to revive a spirit of Truth.
- Join our 6:00pm Thursday night prayer team (in prayer if not in person).
Friday:
- Confess the refuges of lies that keep our culture traveling the low road of pitfalls and potholes.
- Pray for the Good News families of the week: Ryan Hackett, Matt & Becky Hakes (Stevie, ?), Ben & Kate Logan (Caleigh Anne).
Saturday:
- Pray for a revival of Truth and Righteousness among the people of God.
Sunday:
- Thank God for His promise to dwell with those who are humble and contrite.
- Join in with our Sunday prayer services to pray for God’s presence and blessing.
Monday:
- Ask God to teach you how to construct a highway of truth and righteousness in your life.
- Attend “In Touch” Prayer meeting at GNCC at 10:30am or join in prayer at that time.
Tuesday:
- Pray that God’s standard of truth and righteousness will be established on earth as in heaven.
Wednesday:
- Pray that God will break down every idol and falsehood that sets itself up against the TRUTH!
Prayer Challenge: Ask God to give you renewed clarity and understanding of TRUTH. Ask Him to send a revival that raises the standard of TRUTH & RIGHTEOUSNESS in our culture. Pray that it may begin as a fresh passion within you! Don’t let the world tear down the HIGH ways, BUILD UP! BUILD UP!
